Are You Compliant with FSMA’s FSVP Rule?

FDA’s Office of Regulatory Affairs continue to warn food firms over their lack of adherence to the Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) Rule.  FY 2023 FDA data lists the following as top FSVP inspectional observations:

1. FSVP has not been developed.
2. Documentation was not available stating an evaluation was conducted or reviewed and assessed by another entity to determine risk posed by a food from a foreign supplier.
3. Written procedures have not been established to ensure an organization imports food only from approved foreign suppliers.
